Fire Rated

Some of our customers want to have an internal steel fixed screen, double or single door or a door screen but it has to be fire rated.

Our W20 steel product can achieve 30/0 (Integrity Only) fire protection if we manufacture in accordance with our test report documentation and assessments.

'Fire Rated'

Internal Fire Rated screens are becoming more and more popular in domestic properties.

The majority of internal screens and doors that are required to be fire rated are in areas where fire egress is required and so are mainly doorways off of the hallway area. This also seems to occur for some internal basement areas where the screen is located near the staircase.

Our W20 steel fixed screens, single and double doors and door screens can be manufactured with an upgraded specification so as to achieve 30/0 fire integrity. We recommend that the client requests an estimate for this product and should this be within their anticipated budget we can supply test report and assessment documentation. The client should then request approval from the projects fire officer/building control officer confirming that this solution is acceptable for the project.

Our doors products are tested to BS 476:Part 22 1987, Clause 8 and we also have a test for a door to BS EN 1634-1:2014 + A1:2018 so as to prove conformity from both sides of the doors/screens.

Designs have to be within the limitations of the test reports and so we recommend that the client /designer/architect contacts us prior to pricing to check to see that their design works within the parameters that we are allowed to manufacture to.
